Ethiopian Media and Information Literacy Center (EMILC) is a youth-led, board-governed non-profit organization committed to fostering peace and social cohesion through media and information literacy in Ethiopia. EMILC focuses on empowering citizens to recognize and challenge misinformation, disinformation, and hate speech, while promoting ethical digital engagement and freedom of expression. The organization works at the grassroots and national levels to equip youth, journalists, educators, and social media influencers with critical thinking and media literacy skills. It also counters harmful narratives and online hate speech through education, campaigns, and advocacy, and creates safe spaces for women and marginalized groups to engage in media, peacebuilding, and civic dialogue.
