About EMILC

The Ethiopian Media and Information Literacy Center (EMILC) is a dynamic civil society organization (CSO/NGO) dedicated to promoting responsible digital citizenship, fostering peacebuilding, and empowering communities through essential media and information literacy skills.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Finance and Administration Officer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in advancing our mission by ensuring sound financial management, robust accounting compliance, and efficient procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management & Bookkeeping: Maintain precise, up-to-date bookkeeping records and manage day-to-day accounting functions.
  • Reporting & Budgeting: Prepare comprehensive financial statements and reports as required, and assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Procurement & Compliance: Oversee procurement activities to ensure full adherence to organizational policies and relevant donor guidelines.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee strict compliance with all applicable Ethiopian tax laws, labor codes, and financial regulations.
  • Operational Support: Provide ongoing administrative and financial support to ensure smooth organizational operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Proven professional background in accounting, financial management, and procurement processes.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Ethiopian accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal frameworks.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, QuickBooks) and standard MS Office applications (Excel, Word).
  • Sector Background: Prior experience working with NGOs or CSOs is highly desirable.
  • Key Competencies: Strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, ability to work independently, and a track record of meeting tight deadlines.
