The Ethiopian Media and Information Literacy Center (EMILC) is a dynamic CSO/NGO dedicated to promoting responsible digital citizenship, fostering peacebuilding, and empowering communities with essential media and information literacy skills. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Freelance Accountant to join our team and contribute to our mission by ensuring sound financial management and efficient procurement processes.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records.
- Prepare financial reports and statements as required.
- Manage procurement processes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Assist with budget preparation and monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Ethiopian tax laws and regulations.
- Support the organization with other accounting and financial tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounting.
- Strong understanding of Ethiopian accounting principles and regulations.
- Experience in procurement processes.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, QuickBooks) is highly desirable.
- Experience working with NGOs or civil society organizations is an asset.
